CATHOLIC MAN-CRISIS! WHO YA GONNA CALL? CARDINAL BURKE TO THE RESCUE!

There is a MAN-CRISIS in Catholicism!

I know, you think Father D is off his meds again. Now, whatever would give you that idea?
I still don't know why they took me off that weekend chaplaincy gig with the National Guard.

But seriously, folks, there is a Man-Crisis in Catholicism. Don't take my word for it - go to the website!

But rest easy, because help is on the way! They have found just the MAN to put the MAN back in e-MAN-gelization!
When it comes to manly, THIS man is more than a mere man. He's a Prince! A disgruntled Prince of the Church. And he is SILENT NO MORE! (was he ever?)

Diagnosis? READ IT!
Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke on the Catholic Man-Crisis

Remedy? GET A GRIP!

Then, CELEBRATE
featuring Chancery staff (yes, of that Diocese! - can you pick out the Chancellor!)
and faculty members (yes, of that Seminary! - which one is the Rector?)

Oh wait, this IS the Extraordinary Form. There's an Octave, baby! Oh yeah!!!!

Fr Z ROMAN UPDATE: Speaking of a man-crisis . . . Rome: Day 1 Jet Lag is over and The Excellent Father Zed is back in fine form and spending Zombie money!

  1. Yeah...Gay Ray Burke discussing manly men. Pity the manly men didn't speak about Packers football and focused on clothing instead.

  2. Has anyone ever pointed out the Easter bunny atop the tv in the background of that Burke photo?

  4. Great side by sides of the two men in red... One's a flamboyant over the top showboater and the other is a popular pianist.

  5. Lacy Lard Ass' disciples would be completely bowled over by this display of erudition in matters biblical.
The fellow is culpably, monumentally stupid and ignorant and the Zombies love it so!

"Let me be clear about something. While I have no doubt about the veracity of the biblical accounts, and not the slightest doubt about the truth of the historicity of what we read in Scripture, for me the “historical Jesus” is only of mild interest. The Jesus I am truly interested in is the Lord and Savior, Good Shepherd and Just Judge who rose, ascended and will come again “from the East” to judge the quick and the dead."

  6. Zuhlly is dishing up plates of stupidity all over the place. Here he refers to a now ex- priest in PA who took a deal instead of risking trial as "wrongly convicted for crimes...never committed".

Zuhlsdorf, what words would you use to describe the sin committed against the victims of sexual abuse at the hands of the clergy? What is the sin committed by the hierarchic authorities who have aided the concealment of these crimes?

Falsely accused priest dies in prison…

Posted on 6 January 2015 by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf

People who knowingly lie and falsely accuse priests of things they did not do, risk eternal Hell. They not only violate the truth and justice, they commit the heinous sin of sacrilege.

    From MediaReport:

The night before falsely accused priest Rev. Charles Engelhardt passed away on November 15, 2014, Pennsylvania prison officials denied the dying cleric critical medical care, and Engelhardt issued a last declaration of his innocence, according to a recent court filing by Engelhardt’s cellmate and exclusively reported by journalist Ralph Cipriano.

According to Cipriano, Engelhardt told cellmate Paul H. Eline before he died: “Paul, I do not feel well. Please understand that I am an innocent man, who was wrongly convicted.”

This sad episode adds yet another chapter to the gross injustice against three men – Engelhardt, former teacher Bernard Shero, and ex-priest Edward Avery – who were wrongly convicted for crimes they never committed.

    1. I think you're confusing two cases. Englehardt went to trial, was convicted on several charges, and then the judge imposed a stiffer sentence than the guidelines suggested. Not a deal.

No prisoner should be refused needed care, that's a travesty. Still, Englehardt belonged in that prison. I don't know why the trads are trying to imagine otherwise.

    2. Yes... I was sloppy in my writing. There were three defendants: Shero, a teacher, Avery the defrocked priest who took the plea deal and Englehardt.

As you, I believe the state's failure to provide medical care to the prisoner is a disgrace.
