REASON NUMBER 32 WHY POPE FRANCIS IS THE POPE OF CHRISTIAN UNITY

We all know that Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI reached out a hand pf peace, fellowship and reconciliation to the SSPX, only to have his hand slapped away by their arrogance and stubbornness.  He later reached out to Anglicans, to return them to the fold.  Then he retired.

Pope Francis not only continues, but expands even more broadly the work of the Petrine Ministry, which I believe in this day and age is restoring the unity of the Church.

His Holiness sends an off the cuff recorded message to the leadership of Kenneth Copeland Ministries.

For a fuller version with the background on how this came to pass, see this clip.  It's about 45 mins.

That my friends is REASON NUMBER 32 WHY POPE FRANCIS IS THE POPE OF CHRISTIAN UNITY.

Now sit back and watch ultra-traditionalists like Zzz, and Voris either have a meltdown, or try to spin this.  It has become too viral for them to ignore without looking like ostriches with their considerable chair shaped asses in the air.

  1. Z is much too busy rallying the troops for the attack against Catholics that he is predicting. Excuse me. HAS predicted..... for YEARS.
I noticed that she is in a bit of a snit today. She's flying off into the wild blue yonder again. A request for new luggage will be coming soon, I'm sure. Oh, the trials of a humble servant of God.

  2. Now the guy wants his syncophants to vote on which liquor he consumes. What a waste of an ordination.
Are we sure that his "ordination" photos weren't photoshopped? Or that perhaps the Bishop of the diocese that he is alleged to have been ordained had dementia and just did what his caretakers said to do.

    1. Well, the ordaining bishop was Blessed Pope John Paul II, and He did work for a time in the Ecclesia Dei offices, so his ordination to the priesthood is indeed valid. There is not any evidence nor even a faint whisper that the bishops of Velletri-Segni were demented... (lol)
He is listed as a priest of the diocese... http://www.diocesivelletrisegni.it/dettaglio_presbiteri_diocesani.asp?idpage=158 (See entry #40)

  3. One thing that I love about Pope Francis is that he seems to really love people as they are. I don't think that he begins relationships like the one with Tony Palmer with the expectation that Palmer would convert. I think that he simply thinks about what he can learn from Palmer and what he can teach Palmer in return. And that is what he brought to the video.. what could Francis learn from the Evangelical group and what could he impart them in return.

Catholics are probably really far away from unity with a group like Copeland's. However, perhaps Francis' idea of a poor Church for the poor is in grasp. Maybe some of the pastors at the conference associated with the Gospel will be so inspired by Pope Francis that they spend money on the poor rather than building sumptuous mansions. Agreeing on the Real Presense in the Eucharist is probably not going to happen any time soon, but agreeing on how to be better Christians is a real possibility.
