This really pisses me off: JOHN ZUHLSDORF DISSES POPE FRANCIS

This really get's my goat.  Pardon the pun...
Pope Francis did not roll out the Lace and Brocade Brigade for the blessing of the Lambs on the Feast of Saint Agnes.

Father John "Oh I Love the Pope" Zuhlsdorf could not resist taking a pot shot at the present Supreme Pontiff.  He wrote:
"He sure knows how to make an occasion seems [sic] special, no?

So, we love and honor the Pope ONLY if he meets OUR expectations and likes the same liturgical style we like?

Hypocrite!  I say.

He sure knows how to make an occasion seems special, no?

  1. Not just a hypocrite, but an obnoxious, fat, bitchy, queeny hypocrite.

  2. Clearly Monsignor Marini got the message, but Father Zuhlsdorf hasn't yet:

    THE CARNIVAL IS OVER!

  3. Isn't the good Father constantly predicting "Mark my words. The libs will turn on Pope Benedict soon. Just you wait! You'll see."

    Pot, Kettle, Black, much?

  4. Z was out of line here without question. I do think it is the normal custom to wear a stole when offering a solemn blessing. I don't think it too much to ask that Francis respect commonly accepted rubrics.

    1. From what I have read, the lambs, having been previously blessed, were presented to the Pope.

    2. Fair enough if that is the case.

    3. Apparently, the main blessing is done in the church in Rome over the spot that St. Agnes is martyred. However, it does appear that Francis is doing some sort of blessing in the pictures. I'm not sure that this is any different than when he blesses everyone at the General Audience.

Anyway even if a stole was used, the Z-man would be snarky about Francis' subpar choice of stoles.

    4. I thought the Pope always wore a stole under his cassock, and that he is the only cleric who can be "stoled up" 24/7. Now where did I hear that?

  5. Father D, I was going to tease you for a typo then I realized you were quoting Father Z "He sure knows how to make an occasion seems special, no?"

    1. To be completely honest, I really didn't catch it until this morning while showing someone on my phone. Being the technotard that I am, I do not know how to post or edit from my mobile phone. Worry not, though, I am certain you will have another opportunity to ridicule me for some grammar, spelling or syntax error in the not too distant future.

  7. Doesn't getting all wet over Francis' "displayed humility" just as bad as the other folks getting all hot and bothered over Benny wearing lace?

  8. I always get the feeling that this queen is sitting on a bar stool somewhere tap-tapping away on his I-phone posting on his bitch blog. He really flames up the queeny indignation after the fourth gin and tonic. He thinks that he is being SO witty and clever in his remarks, when in reality it is just pathetic.

    1. He has not been recognized in any diocese for years. His Sabine Farm was not his own. A lie.
